Virat Kohli praised Washington Sundar after the T20I match on Sunday. Sundar bowled three overs, with just 12 runs and picking up the wicket of Sunil Narine. Kohli praised the 19-year-old, saying the “fitter, leaner” spinner exhibited good composure in India’s victory against the Windies.
“Starting with the new ball, the way Sundar has bowled against guys who come hard at the ball, he’s done a tremendous job. The composure he’s shown has been outstanding. He’s become fitter, leaner and is very handy with the bat as well,” said Kohli
Kohli: Sundar will be an asset to the Team.
The West Indies lost to India by 22 runs in the DLS method during the second T20I. India scored 167/5 and was able to curb the West Indies to 98/4 during the 16th over.
Sharma earned 67-off 51 white balls while Krunal Pandya scored 20 off 13. Jadeja brought their score higher after making 20 runs in the final over as he clashed with Keemo Paul.
Kohli: Open to the idea of experimenting for the final T20I.
“Winning is always going to be a priority. But sealing the series gives the chance to bring few guys in. The idea is always going to be to win first. But winning the first two games gives the cushion,” added Kohli.
The team captain said that they established a good foundation for the match. He said that the performance of Jadeja and Krunal brought the team past 160 and that they could’ve gotten a 180 if the pitch didn’t slow down in the latter half of the game.
Fast Bowler Navdeep Saini was also commended for his outstanding performance during the match.
